 Dr. Thomas Wirth, AttorneyDr. Thomas Wirth is a certified IP-lawyer and together with his partners at Wirth-Rechtsanwälte offers legal services world-wide. The core competence of his practice is the drafting and executing of licence- and distribution contracts as well as support regarding all questions related to the protection and enforcement of industrial property rights. Furthermore, he focuses on copyright issues in particular related to software, databases, file sharing systems and digital rights management. Dr. Thomas Wirth started his professional career in 1991 as an in-house lawyer at Volkswagen AG, Wolfsburg specialising in European competition- and distribution law. He worked for Seat S.A. in Barcelona and was responsible for international cooperation contracts, research and development contracts, as well as for technology-transfer of the Volkswagen Group. In 2001 he became director for legal and patents for the biotech company LION bioscience AG, Heidelberg, prior to setting up Wirth Rechtsanwälte, Mannheim. Thomas Wirth is a member of the Licensing Executive Society (LES), the European Institute for Media-law (EMR) and the Gesellschaft für Gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht (GRUR).
